Data Acquisition for Coiled Tubing

Our product portfolio includes all the tools and services you need for efficient and effective coiled tubing (CT) interventions.

CoilCAT Real-Time Treatment System

Informed Real-Time Decision Making at a New Level of Confidence

The CoilCAT wellsite service makes Well Services well intervention operations even more efficient and reliable. It combines a state-of-the-art data acquisition system, the coiled tubing sensor interface (CTSI), with the universal tubing integrity monitor (UTIM) and software that merges design, execution, and real-time evaluation capabilities.

CoilCAT advantages

  • Allows job preparation in advance
  • Reduces set-up time
  • Permits real-time job redesign to account for unexpected conditions
  • Provides the coiled tubing (CT) operator with visual information on the wellbore and CT string
  • Tracks key parameters and links them to operational alarms
  • Computes the CT limits at all times, displays the operating point within those limits, and warns when the limits are approaching
  • Updates the string life in real time, based on direct data input, and stores it with the string
  • Generates a treatment report on location

CoilCAT software features

  • CoilLIMIT CT pressure/tension limit model
  • CoilLIFE CT life prediction model
  • Well animation
  • Customizable plots

Wellsite Connectivity for Coiled Tubing Operations

InterACT connectivity, collaboration, and information system reduces operational, travel, and personnel costs with real-time, secure, coiled tubing (CT) data directly from the job site to the desktop. Using a standard Web browser and a simple Internet or intranet connection, the system connects your experts securely anywhere in the world during the job to improve efficiency.
Used with the CoilCAT computer-aided treatment software, the InterACT system makes CT data available on an embedded graphical and numeric display. A wide range of operational parameters can be displayed, including an historical weight-pressure-rate plot; a tubing forces overlay plot; depth correlations; and information on drilling, fracturing, and stimulation programs.
Real-time messages from the wellsite acquisition console can be transmitted, and automated postjob reports can be generated. Files, including daily reports, well programs, logs, and graphics can be exchanged during the operation.

Real-time operational decisions

During a critical CT intervention on Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela, the onshore team used the InterACT system to monitor and collaborate with the wellsite team. The well had a collapsed screen section at 10,478-ft measured depth. The objective was to set a permanent bridge plug and abandon a lower interval. A CT depth correlation log was used to provide accurate depth control.
During the job, an unexpected obstruction was encountered that altered the intervention program and objectives. With real-time access to the CCL log and CT operational parameters, the onshore team optimized and facilitated the decision-making process to make the appropriate corrections. The result was improved operational efficiency and reduced costs.
